The world of IT is developing dynamically.
It would seem not so long ago we were sitting at a heavy computer stations. And do not even think about how to move from the place of this iron. Years passed, and the development of technology reached the point that now everyone can enjoy the programs on your palm. That is a personal phone or a tablet.
In March, the creators of the popular iOS photo app Instagram announced that an Android port was in development and would be released "very soon." One of Instagram's co-founders, Kevin Systrom, even claimed, "It's one of the most amazing Android apps you'll ever see and in some ways, it's better than our iPhone app."
Now Android owners can see if those lofty claims are indeed true as the Android Instagram app, which supports Android 2.2 and above, is now available to download for free via the Google Play store. Like the iOS version, the Android port allows its users a way to add a number of different filter effects to their smartphone and tablet pictures for both front and rear cameras.

Instagram's founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger told TechCrunch that an Android version of the application is coming "really soon" when talked to at SXSW earlier today. The app is definitely getting close to launch, despite the on-going rumours of whether or not the Android platform would get the app. On stage, Systrom pulled out a Galaxy Nexus running a prototype of the app and flashed it at the crowd. He then said:
"It's one of the most amazing Android apps you'll ever see and in some ways, it's better than our iPhone app."
The app is currently in private beta, and the team hopes "to have it out to people really soon." The Android app is apparently very fast, responsive and renders itself on larger screens just as effectively as it does for smaller screens. Functionality with Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks will also work just as well as the iPhone version.
Asus will be one of the first manufacturers to upgrade its devices to the upcoming Android 'Jelly Bean' 5.0 version, according to a report.
Benson Lin, an Asus corporate vice president, said last week that Asus's close relationship with Android lead Google meant that, "once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update".
The quote, given to TechRadar, is notable not only for its description of Asus's ties with Google, but also serves as the first confirmation of Jelly Bean as the name for Android 5.0.
The Google Apps version for Android devices hasn't added all of the versions of the desktop PC port. However, a newly released update to Google Apps for Android does offer users a number of new additions that will be welcome for people who want to work with others on the go.
The new update, which can be downloaded from the Android Market, adds support for online real time collaboration. Basically, it will allow Google Apps users to edit documents while others watch with the mobile version.

Sony Ericsson and AT&T today announced the LTE-powered Sony Xperia Ion, the first Sony-branded smartphone and one of the most powerful smartphones to grace the U.S. market.
The Xperia Ion has a 4.6-inch, 1280-by-720 screen and a 12-megapixel rear camera, making it (so far) the only 12-megapixel cameraphone offered by a U.S. carrier. It's powered by a 1.5-GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Playstation games as well as Sony's music and video services. The device has 16GB of internal storage, but no memory card slot.
Only a few weeks ago, Google announced that the number of activated Android devices had reached 700,000 a day.
While that number was pretty impressive, the number of activations that Google registered for the Christmas weekend was far greater.
Google SVP of Mobile Andy Rubin announced on Twitter that the number of activations reached 3.7 million on Saturday and Sunday alone. “UPDATE: There were 3.7M Android devices activated on 12/24 and 12/25,” he tweeted.
If you own an Android-based smartphone made by LG and have been wondering if your phone will get the Android 4.0 (or Ice Cream Sandwich if you prefer) upgrade, wonder no longer. LG's official Facebook page has posted up a list of which phones will get the upgrade to the newest version of the mobile operating system from Google.
The phones themselves will get the Android 4.0 upgrade sometime in the second or third quarter of 2012, depending on the smartphone model. In the second quarter (April-June) LG says the Android 4.0 upgrade will be applied to "... the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse."
The third quarter (July-September) is scheduled to bring the Android 4.0 update to these LG phones: " ... the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX."
Intel’s collaboration with Google seems to have led to more than just an x86 port of the Android operating system, as the chip maker has recently confirmed that its upcoming Medfield SoC will include a series of hardware optimizations specifically designed for this mobile OS.
In a meeting with the Technology Review website, where Intel has presented to the publication a Medfield-running tablet and smartphone, the chip maker also talked a little bit about the SoC’s Android optimizations.
The most important of these cover Web browsing and a series of Android apps, but some dedicated imaging processing circuits were also thrown into the mix.
One week after its official launch “Grand Theft Auto III” goes on sale in the Android Market. Rockstar Games has just announced it has slashed 40% off the game’s original price.
All in all, fans of the franchise can now purchase the Android version for only $2.99, instead of paying the $4.99 full price.
The promotional offer is available through December 29, after which the title will go back to its original price.
Taking a page out of Amazon's playbook, Archos has unveiled an Android tablet priced at just $199.
Outfitted with Android Honeycomb 3.2, the new $199 (£127) Archos 70b is expected to reach consumers worldwide in January, missing the holidays but potentially serving up some competition to pricier tablets.
An enhanced version of the Archos 70 IT Gen 8 tablet, the 7-inch 70b offers a more powerful ARM Cortex A8 1.2 GHz processor and a higher-resolution 1024x600 pixel multitouch screen. The new tablet also boasts a 3D graphics accelerator, while RAM has been doubled to 512MB.
If you were wondering how well Android fares these days, you have nothing to worry about. The platform is selling very well, and the number of devices being activated each and every day is
increasing fast.
In fact, daily activations have just reached 700,000, at least this is what Andy Rubin, head of mobile operations at Google, notes in a recent tweet.
“There are now over 700,000 Android devices activated every day,” he notes, without offering further details.
The number of malicious Android apps mobile security firm Lookout has identified in less than six months has doubled to 1,000, according to a report released on Tuesday.
The vast majority of those dubious apps are found in third-party app stores and alternatives to the official Android Market, the company said.
"2011 has seen the emergence of a credible field of Android malware with a four-percent yearly likelihood of an Android user encountering malware, which was a significant increase compared to the beginning of the year. In the beginning of 2011 we measured a one-percent yearly likelihood," Lookout said in its report, entitled Malwarenomics: 2012 Mobile Malware Predictions.

Dell's 7-inch Streak Android tablet has gone the way of its 5-inch tablet, which the PC giant killed off in August.
There was no announcement, just a brief note on Dell's website that it was "no longer available online".
Unlike the 5 inch model the larger device never made it to Australia, and ends Dell's line of Android-based tablets.
However, Dell may still yet deliver its 10-inch Windows 8 compatible tablet codenamed "Peju".
The Streak's death came as US-based Evercore Partners analyst Robert Cihra predicted that Amazon's low-cost Kindle Fire will "vaporize other 'for profit' Android tablet OEM roadmaps".
