Public holidays 2012
According to the article number 73 of labour code of Ukraine day offs at enterprise, organizations, institutions and establishments in 2012 are on the following dates: - January 1-2 - New Year
- January 7 - Orthodox Christmas
- March 8 - International Women's Day
- April 15 - Easter Day
- May 1,2 - Labor Day
- 9 May - Victory Day
- June 3 - Trinity Day - another great Orthodox holiday, which is celebrated on the 50-th day after Orthodox Easter
- 28 June - Constitution Day. This holiday commemorates the adoption of Ukrainian constitution in 1996
- 24 Aug - Independence Day. This holiday is dedicated to the proclamation of Ukrainian independence from the USSR in 1991
Holiday forwarding
In case of public holiday is at the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), day offs are extended for one day. Forwarding of day-offs, 2012:
- January 1 (day-off on Sunday) forwarded to January 2d (Monday)
- January 7 (day-off on Saturday) forwarded to Janury 9th (Monday)
- April 2415 (day-off on Sunday) forwarded to April 16th (Monday)
- June 3 (day-off on Sunday) forwarded to June 4th (Monday)
